"There's a field somewhere beyond all doubt & wrong-doing.
I'll meet you there."

Welcome, thank you for visiting Sliabh Dubh Counselling. There are times in everyone's life that they need some extra help & support to overcome the mental health difficulties they face. Making the decision to go to counselling can be a very daunting task, taking that first step is not always easy. Counselling provides a safe, supportive space to work through some of these challenges. Having someone listen and work with us through the issues can be a life changing experience. It allows us the chance to grow and gain a new, healthier perspective on our lives that will help us to continue on our journey with resilience and inner strength.

One to One

Individual counselling is a process through which we work one-on-one in a safe, caring, and confidential environment. To develop an awareness around what is preventing you from living life to its fullest. I places a strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship, nurturing wholeness and the movement towards self healing so that the quality of your day to day functioning in life is maximised.

Online Counselling

Online counselling is where we work together via the internet rather than face to face. I provide telephone counselling and Zoom video call sessions. Our online counselling offers more time flexibility as it is not restricted to traditional office hours. The sessions are bound by the same standards of confidentiality as face to face counselling.

Clinical supervision

Clinical Supervision is an essential requirement in maintaining competent practice for counsellors & psychotherapists. The functions of supervision include monitoring, educating, developing and supporting individual practitioners . As an accredited supervisor I support counsellors & psychotherapists to enhance their professional skills and abilities through reflection and exploration of their work with clients in a safe, supportive space.

  1. One to one counselling - One to one counselling is a process through which clients work one-on-one with a trained therapist n a safe, caring, and confidential environment to explore their feelings, beliefs, or behaviours and identify aspects of their lives that they would like to change.
  2. Relationship counselling  - Relationship counselling is a process through which a couple works with a trained therapist to identify specific areas of conflict and/or aspects of their relationship they would like to change, and then develops a plan of action to improve each individual’s satisfaction and contentment. Family therapy is a form of psychotherapy that seeks to reduce distress and conflict by improving the systems of interactions between family members in a safe, supportive space.
  3. Children & Adolescents -Children and adolescents face many transitions in their lives. Issues of self-identity, independence and decision-making play a major role in healthy development. But for some, this transition can be challenging. Some children feel, sad, angry or overwhelmed. They may need help dealing with school stress, relationships, emotions and family problems. A child and adolescent therapist can help children work through these issues and make better choices in their lives.

"We cannot teach people anything; we can only help them discover it within themselves"
